Honor of Prof. Dr. Dr. Victor Valderrabano, Chairman of SWISS ORTHO CENTER, by the football club FC Shabab Al-Ahli in Dubai / UAE, February 16, 2020.

As part of the 5th Expert Meeting of the Sports Orthopaedic Society GOTS (www.gots.org), under the direction of Prof. Stefan Nehrer, Prof. Victor Valderrabano and Prof. Martin Engelhardt, and with the support of many renowned co-experts, a well-founded new textbook on the diagnosis, prevention and treatment of cartilage damage and osteoarthritis, with a focus on sport, was produced.

Orthopaedic surgeons and researchers Dr. Martin Wiewiorski (Orthopaedic Clinic, Cantonal Hospital Winterthur, Switzerland), Prof. Dr. Alexej Barg (University Orthopaedic Clinic, University of Utah, Salt Lake City, USA), and Prof. Dr. Dr. Victor Valderrabano (SWISS ORTHO CENTER Basel / University of Basel, Switzerland) were awarded the prestigious Klenerman Prize 2018 at the British Orthopaedic Foot & Ankle Society (BOFAS) Congress in Edinburgh, November 7-9, 2018, for their cartilage research paper "Autologous matrix induced chondrogenesis (AMIC) aided reconstruction of osteochondral lesions of the talus - Five year follow-up," presented at the congress by Dr. M. Wiewiorski.

Approximately 230 international participants from 16 countries gathered for the Exactech Medical Education EME 2018 Masters Course in Total Knee Arthroplasty in Paris, France, from May 10-11, 2018, to exchange knowledge on the best treatment for knee osteoarthritis using total knee arthroplasty. Professor Valderrabano, Head of SWISS ORTHO CENTER, was an invited faculty professor at these high-level course days. Professor Valderrabano spoke about the treatment of young patients with total knee arthroplasties and patellar replacement in total knee arthroplasties.

Painful Knee osteoarthritis is an increasing issue worldwide. Around 230 international participants from 16 countries came together to the Exactech Medical Education EME 2018 Masters Course in Knee Arthroplasty in Paris, France, May 10-11 2018, to exchange for the best surgical treatment for knee osteoarthritis by Total Knee Arthroplasty. Professor Valderrabano, Chairman of SWISS ORTHO CENTER, was invited as Faculty Professor during these high-level educational course days. Professor talked about the Treatment of Young Patients with Total Knee Arthroplasty and the Patellar Resurfacing in Total Knee Arthroplasty.

With around 1,500 attendees and a strong industry presence, the conference was a highlight in orthopaedic surgery. It was an honour for Prof. Valderrabano to be among all the outstanding faculty at such a large, high-quality conference. In addition to excellent orthopaedic skills and expertise, friendship, cordiality and kindness are true hallmarks of Mexican orthopaedic surgeons.
